Asked a question last year

When an Employee resign with a new company offer with 50% hike, Should you negotiate with Employee?

Where am I?

For me, as a manager, it should be based on his/her performance really. If he or she is a valuable employee, I say you should offer a better deal than the new one. But also, the employee may not transfer job due to the higher benefit, it could be a personal issue, family issue, etc. Then you should ask the employee and see whether you could help him/her so they would reconsider.
